The challenge
Travellers in a new city juggle a map app, a review app, a weather app and a notes app for where they parked. TripTrek wanted one companion for the whole trip: places worth visiting, a car that is never lost, and answers to travel questions at any hour. It needed a brand and an interface simple enough to use one-handed, on the road.
01 · Brand
My Road Buddy
We designed the TripTrek logo around the car at the centre of every road trip: a front-on car with a location pin in the grille, wrapped in an orange road curve. Deep navy and road-sign orange carry through every screen, so the app feels like one product from splash screen to chat.
02 · Onboarding
Three screens to explain the app, then straight in
Full-bleed travel photography introduces the three core features: discovering places, Google Maps integration and the AI chatbot. Sign-in, password reset and email check screens follow the same navy and orange system, with one clear action per screen.
03 · Explore
Local picks, sorted by what you feel like doing
The home screen greets the traveller by name and groups recommendations into categories such as eat like a local, excursions, local culture and water activities. Tabs for free activities, local secrets and best photo spots keep long lists easy to scan.
04 · Parking finder
Never forget where you parked
Built on Google Maps, the app shows your location, saves your parking spot in one tap, lets you share it, and gives directions back to the car. Short tooltips teach each step the first time it appears.
05 · AI assistant
Lana AI, a travel expert in your pocket
Lana answers travel questions by text or voice: weather for the trip, budget-friendly places nearby, what to see next. Answers can include map views and place cards, and suggested prompts help first-time users start the conversation.
